Downstream gate
In canoe slalom racing a gate consists of two green-and-white striped poles with an orange pole across the top and the competitors must go through the gate in the same direction as the water is flowing. Gates are numbered but if the number has a line through it, then you canít go through the gate from that side, you must enter from the other direction.
