- Company Profile:
A subsidiary of Volkswagen, the Audi Group, comprising the two brands Audi and Lamborghini, is one of the world’s leading carmakers in the premium and supercar segment. The core of the Company is the Audi brand. It offers its products under both the Audi and Lamborghini brands, as well as sells ...
In a double-wishbone suspension, the wheel is guided by two triangulated lateral control arms (the “wishbones”) and a tie rod. The suspension strut is attached to the lower wishbone and provides the necessary vertical support. Low installed height and great width between the left and right sides characterize this suspension design and make particularly advantageous and sporty suspensions possible. Its ability to transmit loads and excellent road grip makes it ideal for the quattro. The double-wishbone suspension takes up little room and, with an appropriate tie rod layout, prevents severe load-reversal reactions. Other suspension layouts include the trapezoidal-link rear suspension.

Like modern aircraft, the accelerator on some Audi models works on the "drive-by-wire" principle. Drive-by-wire throttle interprets pedal input from the driver and automatically adjusts the throttle, turbo boost and ignition timing to deliver incredible response.

The driver information display is located in the center of the instrument cluster. It includes, depending on the car's equipment, radio, telephone, and navigation data, as well as information on the current operating status via autocheck control, which monitors the condition of certain components on the vehicle, such as the brake system, coolant level and engine oil pressure. Autocheck control takes place continuously when the ignition is switched on. Malfunctions and service reminders are also shown, accompanied by warning tones. The displays are prioritized with either red or yellow illuminated symbols. The red signals indicate a potentially hazardous situation requiring immediate driver attention; the yellow ones are cautionary information.

The drivetrain includes all the moving parts of a vehicle: the engine, clutch, transmission, driveshaft, differential, axles, and sometimes the wheels.

In Dual-overhead cam (DOHC) engines, there are two cams above the cylinder head. This design provides precise actuation of intake and exhaust valves for better air and fuel flow.

Dual-zone climate control maintains the individually selected interior temperatures at a desired level for both driver and front passenger. An ambient light sensor on the dashboard also adjusts the system based on the sun’s intensity. In addition, the air conditioner’s ability to dehumidify incoming air prevents the windows from fogging throughout the year. The temperature and blower speed selected by the driver are stored as an individual user profile on the respective ignition key when the ignition is switched off.

The dynamic cornering light is part of the adaptive light system and illuminates your way by pivoting the headlight module to follow the twists and turns in the road ahead. This greatly improves illumination of the road in front of the vehicle and to the sides, making it easier for the driver to anticipate the course of the road ahead. On the basis of several parameters including vehicle speed, steering angle and yaw rate, the system's control function calculates the necessary change in the position of the headlights and gives out the necessary signals.
Industry:Automotive
Dynamic range control continuously and automatically maintains the correct settings of bi-xenon headlights. The control system handles static changes (load and load distribution) as well as the dynamic effects of acceleration and braking. Advantage: the light-dark boundary of the light distribution remains virtually constant. This helps to ensure good visibility and helps prevent the blinding of oncoming traffic.

Multitronic is a continuously variable transmission (CVT) with a steel link-plate chain running in tension in an oil bath between two pairs of bevel wheels of variable diameter. In addition, it permits an exceptionally wide range of effective ratios. The differential is located in the same compact housing as the transmission. There are no fixed gear ratios. The resulting smooth and powerful acceleration ensures a high level of driving comfort. There are also advantages when towing a trailer, thanks to the high torque available over the entire engine speed range. The design and the low weight of the transmission reduce fuel consumption. Manual gear selection mode is available, as with the 6-speed Tiptronic transmission and six simulated gear ratios can be selected. In the automatic mode on the multitronic that calculates the optimum gear ratio with the aid of a dynamic regulating program (DRP) according to engine load, the driver's preferences and driving conditions.

The dynamic ride control (DRC) suspension concept consists of a special shock absorber system that counteracts pitch and body roll movements without using any electronic devices.
When DRC is installed, the diagonally opposed shock absorbers on the car are linked together hydraulically. A central valve varies the shock absorber operating characteristic, for instance when the steering wheel is turned and the car is cornered, so that movement around the longitudinal axis (roll) is significantly reduced. DRC uses the same principle to counteract body movement around the transverse axis (pitch) when the car is accelerated or braked.
