Pombo Island, located between Ambon Island and Haruku Island, has been officially declared a natural conservation area since 1973. Being kept uninhabited by human until today, this 1000-hectares island is a home to the endemic 'pombo' birds (a kind of doves) - from which the name comes - and an ideal paradise for campers, backpackers and nature lovers.
Île de Pombo, située entre l'île d'Ambon et de l'île d'Haruku, a été officiellement déclaré une zone naturelle protégée depuis 1973. Gardée inhabitées par l'homme jusqu'à aujourd'hui, cette île de 1000 hectares est une maison pour les oiseaux endémiques « pombo » (une sorte de colombes) - de qui provient le nom - et un paradis idéal pour les campeurs, les randonneurs et les amoureux de la nature.
